Annual Gathering

The BC Pipers’ Association is pleased to acknowledge
the financial assistance of the Province of British Columbia.
What: The BC Pipers Association Annual Gathering (also known as the “Indoor Meet”) is held on the Friday and Saturday of the Easter long weekend. The Friday features solo piobaireachd and Open drumming competitions, as well as drumming workshops. Saturday events are the remaining solo events, a full band competition, and the Ceilidh afterward including performances by the solo aggregate winners.

New for 2019: An informal kitchen-style contest will be held during the Ceilidh. Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd placings. For more details please see the 2019 BCPA Annual Gathering Info Guide here.
New for 2019: The Competing Pipers Association (CPA) B Grade Piobaireachd, which is now a qualifier for the 2020 Silver Medal at the Argyllshire Gathering and the Northern Meeting, will be held on the Friday. Also, a new CPA C Grade Piobaireachd event will be held on the Friday. See the Info Guide for details. Both events are officially recognized by the CPA.

2019 Annual Gathering

The 2019 BCPA Annual Gathering will be held on Friday and Saturday April 19 & 20, 2019 again at the North Delta Secondary School, 11447 82nd Ave, Delta, BC, V4C 5J6.

The 2019 Annual Gathering online entry is OPEN here. The online entry deadline is March 29.

Submit tunes during registration if required. After registration, email your tune names, if required, by the deadline to entries@bcpipers.org
Note: to add multiple competitors on a single registration, use the “add guest” button near the bottom. More info is in the events help page on the registration site if needed.

 

The “early bird” priced tickets for the 2019 BCPA Annual Gathering Band Contest and Ceilidh are available for purchase until April 15 here.

Early Bird ticket prices are in the following table. Prices at the door will be higher. Cash and credit cards will be accepted for admission purchases and purchases at the Ceilidh.

Online Entries Only

Please note that all competition entries and their payments shall be done online for all competitions administered, managed and run by BCPA.

Several bank gift cards, in Canada and the US, can be accepted by the BCPA’s online entry system. This method may be used by people who do not want to use their personal credit cards for online transactions and by pipe bands. A partial list of these bank gift cards is contained in the Information Document associated with the Annual Gathering online entry form.

2019 Interactive Demonstrations of Piping and Drumming
The 2019 Annual Gathering will include interactive demonstrations of piping and drumming for youth and adults interested in learning the instruments on the Saturday from 12 noon to 1 pm. A great way to become engaged in a very fulfilling passion.
2019 Senior Adjudicator Drumming Workshops
The Senior Drumming Adjudicator will conduct workshops for snare drummers on Friday, April 19 at the Annual Gathering venue. Admission is free. For details please see page 2 of the 2019 BCPA Annual Gathering Info Guide which can be found here.
2019 BCPA “After Hours” Ceilidh
The BCPA “After Hours” Ceilidh begins at the Annual Gathering venue immediately after the Saturday band contest and awards presentation.
