ORDER OF PLAY – MINI GATHERINGS
For Mini-Gatherings, entries received by 11:59 pm October 5, 2014, will be entered into a random draw for order of play. Entries received after this date and time, order of play is first to enter, last to play.
The Mini-Gathering on November 1 is at the SFU Burnaby campus, West Mall Complex. The location of the Mini Gathering on February 21 is TBA.
NEW FOR 2014/15 Mini-Gatherings – Master Classes: For the higher grades (Grades 1 and 2 for Piping and Side Drumming, and Grade 1 for Tenor Drumming), one event in each grade will be conducted in a Master Class format where the adjudicator will provide a short verbal assessment for the competitor directly after their performance. Results will still be announced and critique sheets provided as normal. These are great opportunities for the competitors, their instructors and parents, and other adjudicators to gain important insights. Attendance by all parties is encouraged.
The purpose of the Mini-Gatherings: To provide amateur players with regular opportunities to test the preparedness of their new competition tunes for the outdoor season.
- The Grade 1 Piping and Side Drumming competitors with the highest “Super Aggregate” score from the Mini-Gatherings and Annual Gathering combined will receive up to a maximum of $600 CDN toward an airline ticket to Glasgow, Scotland, Kansas City, MO or Hamilton, ON to compete in the World Solo Drumming Championship, Midwest Highland Arts Fund Winter Storm or George Sherriff Amateur Invitational.
