| Friday at the United Scottish
Cultural Centre in Vancouver: |
The front of the Scottish Cultural Centre - Many BCPA events take place
here - including the BCPA Knock-Outs, the BCPA Annual Dinner, and the Friday AG
events. |
Parked right in front of the Scottish Cultural Centre on Friday was a car
with this license - (Friday was the day for Piobaireachd for Grade 1 and
Professional at the Centre) |
Jack Lee (winner of all Professional piping events),
listens to his student Alison Dunsire (winner of Grade 1 Piobaireachd) in the Piobaireachd
final tuning room. |
The MacCrimmon Memorial Cairn is awarded to the Professional Piobaireachd
winner (Jack Lee this year) - it is a near stone-for-stone replica (but much smaller)of
the memorial cairn at Borreraig on Skye. |

The real 'thing' -
Pretty neat 'eh? |
| Saturday
at the South Delta Senior Secondary School in Delta: |
Typical hallway scene during the day of the Annual Gathering, pipers,
drummers, friends and family. If you stood anywhere long enough you were bound to
see someone you knew.. |
The vendors area. A good place to shop for last
minute supplies.... "Oh, full silver Naill's. I need those for my solo event. How
much?" Just kidding.. |
Drummers had some great rooms for their solos. Here Carly Coulson
(with piper Alison) gets ready to compete in the library in front of judge Liza McAdam |
One of the more crowded and popular areas was the "Results and
Information Wall" where you'd find.. ah.. results and event information.. humm.. |
| Saturday
Evening: |
Special recognition (and a bouquet of flowers) was given to BCPA
Secretary Mary MacKinnon - A casually dressed Jamie McInnes (President of the Association)
made the presentation. |
The evening 's Master of Ceremonies Bill Elder - at his post - on the set
of the High School production of West Side Story. |
A table of trophies - the mini-bands shared the stage with these. |
And more of them - solo, and band trophies - a great deal of piping
history here (there). |
