Annual Gathering

What:

The BC Pipers Association "Indoor Meet" is held on the Friday and Saturday of the Easter long weekend. The Friday features the solo piobaireachd competitions, professional drumming and a recital featuring the invited judges. Saturday events are the remaining solo events, a mini-band contest and the ceilidh in the evening

Location and events:

The prestigious “Indoor” will be held at a couple of different venues on Good Friday, April 22, 2011, and then continuing on April, 23, 2011.

Friday start time Changes:

Please note that the start times for Friday's Annual Gathering events have been changed in order to ensure that all events are completed in time for the evening recital. The start times are:

Professional Piobaireachd will begin at 9:00 a.m. rather than 10:00 as stated on the entry form.

Grade 1 Piobaireachd will begin at 9:00 a.m. rather than 10:00 as stated on the entry from.

Professional Side Drumming will begin at 3:30 p.m. rather than 4:00 p.m. as stated on the entry form.

Friday, April 22nd Events: 

Events to be held at Scottish Cultural Centre, 8886 Hudson Street Vancouver 
(Link to Google Map for Scottish Cultural Centre) 

Piobaireachd competition:
  • Professional and Grade 1 Piobaireachd competitions
  • Doors open at 8AM, competition starts at 9AM
Side Drumming Seminar:
  • The seminar will be held within The Scottish Cultural Centre
  • 10AM for grades 3 and lower, 1PM for grades 2 and up.
  • Admission is free to any competitor at the gathering.
Professional Drumming Events:
  • Pro Side drumming starts at 3:30PM.
  • Pro Tenor starts at 5PM
Depending on number of entries, events may start earlier. All events are subject to time change. 

Senior Adjudicator Recital:  
  • Recital starts at 7PM
  • Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance in the entry form
  • A buffet Dinner will be available at 6pm. Dinner tickets are $20 and must be purchased in advance.(See ticket box on Page 1 of entry form)   
Saturday, April 23rd Events:  

Events will be held at Douglas College, 700 Royal Avenue, New Westminster, BC

Solo piping and drumming events:
  • Piping starts at 9:00AM
  • Drumming starts at 10:00AM
FULL Band Contest:
  • Band contest will start at 5:30PM
  • Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance in the entry form
  • The award presentations will follow the band contest
Ceilidh:
  • The Ceilidh will start following the award cermonies
  • Tickets are $5 and may be purchased at the door or in advance in the entry form below.
Monday, April 25th Events: 

Events will be held at Douglas College, 700 Royal Avenue, New Westminster, BC
  • Piobaireachd Seminar, Session 1 - 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm
  • Piobaireachd Seminar, Session 2 - 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm
Tuesday, April 26th Events:  

Events will be held at Douglas College, 700 Royal Avenue, New Westminster, BC
  • Piobaireachd Seminar, Session 3 - 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm
