Annual Gathering

What:
The BC Pipers Association "Indoor Meet" is held on the Friday and Saturday of the Easter long weekend. The Friday features the solo piobaireachd competitions, professional drumming and a recital featuring the invited judges. Saturday events are the remaining solo events, a mini-band contest and the ceilidh in the evening

Location and events:

The 2009 Annual Gathering will be held on April 10-11.

  Depending on number of entries, events may start earlier.
  All events subject to time change.

  Friday events:
  All events will be held at Simon Fraser University

    Side Drumming Seminar:
  • The seminar will be held on the 4th floor of the AQ.
  • 10AM for grades 3 and lower, 1PM for grades 2 and up.
  • Admission is free to any competitor at the gathering.
    Tenor & Bass Drumming Seminar:
  • Featuring Grade 1 band tenor & bass drummers as instructors
  • 1:00 – 3:00 pm at Lecture Room AQ 4130
  • Admission is free to any competitor at the gathering.
     Friday Piobaireachd competition:
  • Doors open at 9AM, competition starts at 10AM
     Professional Drumming events:
  • Pro Side drumming starts at 4PM.
  • Pro Tenor starts at 5PM
     Judges Recital:
  • Recital starts at 7PM
  • Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance in the entry form
   Saturday events:

  All events will be held at Douglas College New West Campus

    Solo piping and drumming events:
  • Piping starts at 9:00AM
  • Drumming starts at 10:00AM
     Mini Band Contest:
  • Band contest will start at 5:30PM
  • Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance in the entry form
  • The award presentations will follow the band contest
     Ceilidh:
  • The Ceilidh will start following the award cermonies
  • Tickets are $5 and may be purchased at the door or in advance in the entry form below.
