Due to declining interest on behalf of Knockout competitors and spectators as well as an increased financial loss attributed to the event over the past several years, the BC Pipers’ Association has made the difficult decision not to host the Knockout contest this season.
However, the BCPA understands the desire of many members to continue opportunities for the social side of piping and drumming, that are also more inclusive for all members as well as closer to where the majority of members live within the Metro Vancouver region.
Thus, this fall the BCPA is teaming up with the SFU Scottish & Celtic Society to put on an all-ages Piping and Drumming Ceilidh at SFU Burnaby, which is going to follow the BCPA AGM on November 8th, 2014. The evening will take place in the Halpern Centre at SFU starting from 6:30 PM and the cost for entry will be $5.00.
At this ceilidh, the BCPA is pleased to offer an exciting new piping and drumming contest event, with a format open to all ages, grades, and players of all instruments!
Please stay tuned for rules & more details to follow.
We will have pizza for sale as well as a bar open, selling both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for your enjoyment.
Please join us for a relaxed, fun, and social evening full of entertainment on November 8th, following your BCPA AGM!
